We want to inspire you and those in your community to read real books and draw real pictures. It’s not the cheapest or the easiest way to make books. But it’s the most human.
Are you an author or illustrator who is interested in publishing with Pennyworth?
Send us an email!
We want to hear your stories and see your paintings. Any length, genre, and style will be considered. Authors are welcome to send short pitches or full manuscripts. Illustrators are welcome to submit portfolios or character sheets. Traditional media is strongly preferred for illustrations.

Traditional publishing is difficult to break into and usually requires a literary agent. Hannah and I intend to use a print-on-demand service to print and distribute books. This means we will never have a huge amount of books in a warehouse somewhere that we have already paid for. We don’t have the budget to give author advances, but we want to offer a higher-than-usual royalties rate of 20%. We want our authors to reach out to their local communities (bookstores, libraries, etc) to advertise, give readings, and encourage their neighbors to read books and look at art made by their friends. We want to help parents create books that they love to read to their own children, and encourage those with artistic leanings to take the leap and start to make art. At Pennyworth Press, we aren’t ruled by the bottom line. We want to inspire you and those in your community to read real books and draw real pictures. It’s not the cheapest or the easiest way to make books. But it’s the most human.
