Emily was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. Her love of reading and books developed in her 30s when she began literature classes with House of Humane Letters, and she has been learning ever since.

Presently she lives in Georgia with her husband and two sons, and enjoys reading, nature photography, birding, and knitting. She also runs her own lending library where she loans out books to her friends and neighbors in exchange for baked goods. She can be found most days on her Substack, where she shares her love of learning with the world.
