The outsourcing of media and entertainment to “experts,” large corporations, and AI is impoverishing the imaginations of millions of people. From inane and visually subpar mass-market selections to auto-generated, direct-to-consumer titles being sold by online retail giants, so much current children’s literature not only lacks heart but humanity. Pennyworth Press believes in supporting authors and artists who want to create for their families and local communities. We want you to read, write, and draw, taking inspiration from what you love.

Who We Are

Grace Russo; Managing Editor 

Grace Russo is a wife, mother, and jack-of-most-trades living in Northern Maryland. She and her three children love nature walks and Beatrix Potter and tiny, precious, everyday miracles.

Hannah DeRespino; Art Director

Hannah DeRespino is an artistic dilettante and lover of all things beautiful who lives in Maine. She’s equally fond of the wild Maine seaside as she is wandering through big-city art museums, and hopes to someday have little ones of her own with whom to share her picture book collection.
